Me! Hello I’m Grace and I’m 16 years old and I have been running Grace’s Baking club for over a year.
I have lots of experience working with children including, volunteering at Rainbows and coaching gymnastics. I have been baking ever since I could hold a spoon and I wanted to share what I love with other people! Next year I will be studying an Education and Childcare T Level. I can’t wait to bake with you!
Currently the classes are for 7-11 year olds but I’m are hoping to expand this soon. I've designed my classes to be suitable for both new Starters who might be interested in learning some new skills and falling in love with baking, or those who are ready to try something a little more challenging!
I take the time in the classes to make sure that everyone knows what they should be doing, and I support and encourage those who need it so that every child has a successful bake!
All my classes are live online via Zoom, which allows you to access baking club from anywhere! Zoom is a free app that allows you to connect to my class that you can download directly from their website. You will need access to either a computer (Mac/PC) or a modern phone to be able to join the classes with Zoom.
I strongly suggest that you test your computer/phone, webcam, microphone, and Zoom before joining the class to make sure that everything is working fine. Unfortunately I can't offer technical support so getting this sorted beforehand makes it a much more relaxing and enjoyable baking session.
I want to make it easy for small families to be able to enjoy baking together. So for my baking club my £5 per family pricing is based on up to 3 children of the same family using the same computer/phone to join the online class.
It's completely up to you! I would love to hear and see you however Zoom has a chat feature which allows me to answer any questions you may have!
After you have booked a class, I will email you all the information you need about what ingredients and equipment you will need. If possible have these ready at the table before the start of the class but don't worry about weighing anything out as we'll do that together. If you need anymore help feel free to email me!
Don't worry if your child isn't finished by the end of the class. I make sure that everyone knows what to do next so that they can have a fantastically successful and tasty baking session.
If you are comfortable to, once the class is over please share your creations with others in the Baking Club on my Facebook Group! It's great seeing the creativity and happiness in the bakes!
While I make sure to give clear and safe guidance to the children, Parents are completely responsible for their children at all times during the class. Parents must always be in the room with the child while on Zoom to help with anything that I can’t help with.
I offer 2 different classes each week. Our Starter class is for children who are new to baking and want to learn lots of new skills in a fun way! Our Experienced class is for children who want to challenge themselves a bit more. Take a look at what I'll be teaching in our Class Calendar page.
I try to keep to the dates published in the Class Calendar as much as possible but they may be subject to change sometimes. Usually by the time you can book a class the time/date is set.
Every class costs £5 per child. However if you buy a bundle you can get 4 classes for only £15! I use Stripe to take payments so it's safe for you to use.
Absolutely! However, please remember that the two classes are for different abilities so if you find that the Starter class is perfect for you I wouldn’t try the Experienced class just yet!
